BI Policy Hampers Property Sector Growth

Hussi , chairman of the Association of Real Estate Indonesia ( REI ) , said
growth in the property sector in the first half of 2014 has slowed down 10 to
15 percent compared to the same period last year .He said that the value of
high loan interest rates set by Bank Indonesia ( BI ) is one of the causes of
the weakening of the sale of the property . The rupiah is not stable and
presidential elections have contributed to this delay .
"
Request a bit so there is some progress, but no project has been terminated , " said Eddy .
With
the end of the presidential election , Eddy predicts that the property sector will continue to
grow in the second half . However , he is still waiting for a new government policy
before determining the growth targets .
"
We are grateful that the presidential elections went smoothly , but we're still
going to see the next government policy , " he said.
